On this tour, we will explore Karlova, one of Tartu’s most distinctive districts. We will share the story of Karlova’s formation and history while remembering its famous residents. The walk takes us through century-old streets – each with a story of its own – along the main avenue, Tähe Street, as well as its side streets. We will also visit modern Karlova, including the recently fully renovated Õnne Street. To enrich the journey, you will hear quotes and musings about Karlova from literary figures. Kaspar Jassa is one of those understated figures upon whose ascetic shoulders the “Spirit of Tartu” rests. He could be described as a DJ, writer, philosopher, or artist. Having worked as a guide for over 20 years, he has conducted thousands of tours in Estonian, Russian, and English. While his work is primarily connected to the Estonian National Museum, he has also led tours across Estonia and abroad.
Tour is only in Estonian
